How to Make Money in Lagos Life: Legit Ways to Earn Fast

Lagos Life game money comes from five legit places: your job, side gigs, businesses, a haulage trailer and land. This guide uses the game's own numbers to show what each one pays, what it costs and what to do first. Only legit, in-game methods.

Short version: work every shift → train your career skill → get promoted → do gigs on days off → buy a POS Stand once you can spare ₦500,000 → grow into bigger businesses. Always keep rent (and your LAPO repayment) aside before Saturday.

1. Your job is your engine

Shift pay climbs a lot with each promotion. Level 5 pays roughly 11–25× level 1, depending on the career. The top jobs pay ₦66,000 (Afrobeats Giant), ₦62,000 (Global DJ) and ₦60,000 (Celebrity Influencer) per shift. See the full jobs & salaries table.

2. Side gigs: hustle no dey sleep

Gigs pay right away and fill the hours between shifts. Most scale with a skill level, so they get better as you train. Times are in-game minutes.

Pay formulas are read from the game's code. "Hustle level" etc. means your current whole skill level. Gigs also change your needs (energy, fun, hygiene), so plan meals and rest around them.

3. Businesses: daily income while you sleep

Businesses are listed in the game under "Own a business". Each one pays every evening at 6 PM after running costs, and on a bad day it loses money instead. If you sell, you get back 60% of the price.

*Price ÷ mid-range net per in-game day, ignoring bad days. Real payback is a bit slower. How long an in-game day lasts in real time is still to be confirmed in-game.

Which first? The POS Stand (₦500,000) is the only one most players can afford early, and it pays back fastest on paper. The Buka is the natural next step. Bigger businesses earn more per day but take longer to pay for themselves.

Mack Haulage Trailer

An alternative to a business: the Mack Haulage Trailer costs ₦18,000,000 and pays ₦90,000–₦160,000 every evening, minus a ₦30,000 driver. That's ₦60,000–₦130,000 net, about 189 days to pay back. It has an 8% breakdown chance (₦95,000 repair). You can own up to 3, and selling returns 60%.

4. Land: slow, steady growth

Land gains value every in-game week. In some areas, omo-onile may show up when you buy and demand "foundation money" (10% of the price). Selling land costs a 5% fee.

Growth compounds weekly. The 10-week value is a projection from the game's growth rate, before the 5% selling fee.

5. Extra income

Stop the leaks: costs to plan for

CostHow it works
RentTaken every Saturday morning. Weekly rent: Mushin ₦2,400, Yaba ₦6,000, Lekki Phase 1 ₦17,000, Ikoyi ₦250,000, Banana Island ₦1,500,000. Unpaid rent becomes debt, and owing more than 2 weeks outside Mushin gets you evicted to Mushin.
LAPO loanLAPO Babies repay ₦12,000 a week until ₦72,000 is cleared. If you can't pay when LAPO collects, a penalty of 10% of that week's payment is added to what you owe. You can pay early.
TaxThe first ₦1,000,000 earned each week is tax-free, then 20%, 40% above ₦10m and 45% above ₦50m. It's taken from pay automatically, resets every Monday, and doesn't apply to sales or gifts.
TransportTrekking is free but slow. Keke/danfo are ₦100 + ₦5/km, okada ₦150 + ₦8/km, cab ₦300 + ₦15/km. A fuel scarcity day raises fares 50%.
Fines & bailCrime actions can land your Sim in the cell at Eko Police Division, where you wait it out or pay. That's a money drain, not a strategy.
Food & healthEat cheap at Amala Shitta and treat sickness early (drugs from the chemist cost ₦1,500). The Food subsidy policy makes groceries and food 30% cheaper.

Money FAQ

What's the fastest way to make money in Lagos Life?

Early on: work every shift of a job you can be promoted in, do side gigs on your free hours, and keep rent paid. The best entry-level pay is Banking (₦4,200/shift). Once you have ₦500,000 spare, a POS Stand adds daily income. Promotions are the biggest jump: top-level pay is roughly 11–25× level 1, depending on the career.

Should I buy land or a business first?

For most players, a business. Businesses pay cash every evening, while land only grows in value over time (1.5%–4% per in-game week, depending on the area) and you only get that money when you sell, minus a 5% fee. Cheaper land areas also carry an omo-onile risk when you buy. Land makes more sense once you have spare cash you won't need soon.

Can I turn Lagos Life naira into real money?

No. In-game naira has no real-world value and can't be cashed out, sold or transferred outside the game.

Do businesses pay every day?

Yes. Each business pays you every evening at 6 PM (in-game time) after its running costs, but some days go wrong and cost you instead. The game warns they take months to pay for themselves.
